Newcastle’s Hip Hop Scene Takes Over The Cluny2:
The Ultra Jam
For the last two years The Ultra Jam has become one of Newcastle’s most reliable homes for underground hip hop artists. Chaotic live energy and line ups that feel like a who’s who of the scene make it more than just a standard gig night. Now, after building its name across the scene, the event is making a move to a bigger stage: The Cluny 2.
Taking place on Friday 15th of May, the latest edition of The Ultra Jam brings yet another packed line up of local talent to one of the North East’s most respected grassroots venues, while still keeping the same DIY spirit that helped the event grow in the first place.
The line up includes:
90BRO
Jackman
Chants
Tommy23
AverageJoe
Donald Jenkins
CCTV
MECHAByte
E-Mence
With doors opening at 7:30pm, the night promises everything the Ultra Jam has become known for over the past two years. and despite the move to a larger venue, entrance is completely free.
The jump to a bigger venue feels like a natural step for an event that has steadily earned its place within Newcastle’s independent music scene. What started as a platform for emerging artists has grown into a recognised name within the scene, giving performers a space to test ideas, build audiences, and occasionally blow the roof of smaller venues in the process.
